Georges Braque, nacido en Argenteuil el 13 de mayo de 1882 y fallecido en París el 31 de agosto de 1963, fue un pintor y escultor francés. Él fue, junto con Pablo Picasso y Juan Gris, uno de los iniciadores del cubismo.

Georges Braque, born in Argenteuil on May 13, 1882 and died in Paris on August 31, 1963, was a French painter and sculptor. He was, along with Pablo Picasso and Juan Gris, one of the founders of Cubism.

Georges Braque, né à Argenteuil le 13 mai 1882 et mort à Paris le 31 août 1963, était un peintre et sculpteur français. Il fut, avec Pablo Picasso et Juan Gris, l'un des initiateurs du cubisme.

Henri Matisse (31 de diciembre de 1869 - 3 de noviembre de 1954) fue un pintor francés conocido por su uso del color y por su uso original y fluido del dibujo. Matisse es reconocido ampliamente como uno de los grandes artistas del siglo XX y es comúnmente considerado, junto con Picasso y Marcel Duchamp, como uno de los tres artistas que ayudaron a definir los acontecimientos revolucionarios en las artes plásticas en las primeras décadas del pasado siglo.

Henri Matisse (31 December 1869 - 3 November 1954) was a French painter known for his use of color and his fluid and original use of the drawing. Matisse is widely recognized as one of the great artists of the 20th century and he is commonly regarded, along with Picasso and Marcel Duchamp, as one of the three artists who helped to define the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the opening decades of the last century.

ESPAÑOL:

Yo creo que la pintura y el dibujo son la misma cosa. El dibujo es una pintura hecha con recursos limitados. En una superficie blanca, una hoja de papel, con una pluma y un poco de tinta, se crea un cierto contraste con los volúmenes; se puede cambiar el aspecto del papel añadiendo superficies suaves o superficies claras; las superficies rugosas se crean siempre añadiendo sombra o luz. Para mí, el dibujo es una pintura [hecha] con recursos limitados.

ENGLISH:

I believe that painting and drawing are the same thing. The drawing is a painting done with limited resources. On a white surface, a sheet of paper, with a pen and some ink, we can create some contrast with the volumes, we can change the appearance of the paper adding soft surfaces or light surfaces, we always create rough surfaces adding shadow or light. For me, drawing is a painting done with limited resources.

FRANÇAIS:

Moi, je crois que la peinture et le dessin c'est la même chose. Le dessin est une peinture faite avec des moyens réduits. Sur une surface blanche, une feuille de papier, avec une plume et l'encre, on crée un certain contraste par les volumes, on peut changer la qualité de papier dans les surfaces légers ou des surfaces claires; les surfaces dures ajoutons toujours de l'ombre ou de la lumière. Pour moi, le dessin est une peinture avec des moyens réduits.

Antoni Tàpies i Puig, marqués de Tàpies (Barcelona, 13 de diciembre de 1923 - ibídem, 6 de febrero de 2012) fue un pintor, escultor y teórico del arte español. Uno de los principales exponentes a nivel mundial del informalismo, está considerado como uno de los más destacados artistas españoles del siglo XX. La obra del artista catalán goza de un centro de estudio y conservación en la Fundación Antoni Tàpies de Barcelona.

Antoni Tàpies i Puig, Marquis of Tapies (Barcelona, December 13, 1923 - ibid, Febrery 6, 2012) was a Spanish painter, sculptor and theoretician of art. One of the main exponents of informalism worldwide,  is regarded as one of the most prominent Spanish artists of the 20th century. The work of the catalan artist has a center of study and conservation in the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona.
